Matthias and Amber added expediently to the experience -- their local knowledge and personalities! Their advice was always right from were to eat and the best place for drinks: ) I can really tell they listened and understood our interest, then tailored our adventures. There is no better way to see Virgin Islands than on a sail boat and this sail boat was in top shape with Matthias and Amber ready to please. If you want the true BVI experience trust Matthias, who grew up on the islands and let Amber cook fresh local seafood.

We hope your charter lived up to your expectations. We would love to know some of your impressions about your yachting vacation. Please answer the following questions and add any comments you may have.

1. Was the crew friendly and accommodating?
Absolutely! Matthias and Amber had the perfect personalities for this type of charter. The interaction was just the perfect mix of conversation and time to ourselves as a group of 6. We enjoyed hearing about their adventures when we ask

2. Was the yacht comfortable and clean?
Definitely! Everything was always orderly and clean.

3. Was the yacht well ventilated?
Yes, we had air conditioning at night and during the day ventilation was perfect, never too warm below deck.

4. Was the food good and well presented?
Gourmet, like straight from Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous. Amber has a wonderful talent and made fabulous meals and desserts, it was amazing what she produced from a small galley

5. Did you like the area you sailed?
Yes, every anchorage was interesting and enjoyable.

6. Additional comments on your charter?
Matthias provides scuba diving instruction upon arrival. 3 of us completed the online Padi class prior to arriving and he provided the Confined Water and Open Water dives as part of our charter. We did 7 dives in total including the most famous dice in the BVI of the RMS Rhône. He is a skilled dive master and having grown up in the Virgin Isles he knew just where to take us for seeing turtles, stingrays, lobsters, sharks, etc. We also fished in the USVI and ate the Yellowtail Snapper we caught the following evening prepared as fish tacos by Amber. They are well versed in the necessary steps to take to insure that any possible parasites were avoided, not something we would have know if we had fished on our own. We also snorkeled and paddle boarded. We have ZERO complaints. We are very thankful we chose The Antillian!

Amber and Matthias were great. They made sure we relaxed and had a great time. They were great not only in the big things like ensuring the meals were all of our favourites and the places we visited were exactly what we were looking for, but also in the little details that went the extra mile... like covering the port holes at night so that we wouldn't be woken up in the morning by the sun or getting a mint plant and planting it in their garden to ensure Amber could make me mojitos (she wasn't sure if the grocery store would have mint).

9. It is our pleasure to keep you informed of relevant specials / updates for your next charter. When do you plan to charter next?
probably never, this was probably a once in a lifetime trip for us, but we can hope!

Matthias, Amber and the Antillean were remarkable. So accommodating and everything we wanted was included. We were even able to get PADI certified (included in the charter). Decades ago when I began to dream about my special birthday it was quite simple; sail around the British Virgin Islands with my husband on a romantic sail boat. Antillean was all that and more. From the moment we met Mattheias and Amber we knew that we had friends for life. We embarked upon a 10 day adventure peppered with adventure, fine dining and exciting seas. The islands had just begun recovering from Hurricane Irma, but the spirit of their native son (Mattheias) and adopted daughter (Amber) was undamaged.
Mattheias has extraordinary knowledge of the islands and was an exceptional listener and planner when it came to our vacation. He knew we wanted to swim LOTS and he knew we wanted a laid-back private place for my big birthday. Mattheias knew all of the coves to anchor in, and he knew where to travel in accordance with the weather. We felt confident in all of his suggestions for land adventures as well – hikes and journeys on various BVI’s. Mattheias also knew which highlights of which islands to see. He knew secret coves where snorkeling was extraordinary, and there were no other boaters. He also knew favorite restaurants where the owner called him by name. He had so much institutional knowledge of the islands and endless stories that made us laugh ourselves to sleep most every night.
We often joke there is no “Fine Dining” in the Caribbean. Amber proved us wrong. There is fine dining aboard Antillean. Each of our meals were extraordinary. Again Amber did an amazing amount of planning and thoughtful preparation. She is quite creative and uses fresh ingredients to the max. Every morning we were greeted with fresh fruit and coffee, and this was before breakfast. Amber and Mattheias also prepared meals from the sea; much to our delight.

7. It is our pleasure to keep you informed of relevant specials / updates for your next charter. When do you plan to charter next?

We had been wanting to do a sailing vacation for a few years. I don't know why we waited so long. It was absolutely amazing!!! The Antillean was the perfect boat for us. We got to thoroughly enjoy the sailing experience. Matthias and Amber were the perfect crew. Very attentive to our every need. We did not want for a single thing. The cabins were comfortable and air conditioned when needed. The food was beyond delicious! Amber is a very talented chef. We can't say enough good things about the food. YUM! Our stomachs could not have been happier! Matthias is very knowledgeable of all the islands and gave us options every day as to what we wanted to do and where we wanted to go. We love to snorkel and got to explore many different areas. Also learned how to paddle board. We also enjoyed "down" time just hanging out on the boat and enjoying the warm weather and beautiful scenery. Our days were totally tailored to what we wanted to do. We will be forever thankful to Matthias and Amber for making our vacation the best it could be!! We wholeheartedly recommend the Antillean to anyone considering chartering a boat in the Virgin Islands. We know we will sail with Amber and Matthias again some day!!!
June 4-11, 2017 - FIVE STARS
We had a great trip. Everything 5s. The food was beyond expectations and super high quality. Yacht was great. It was really nice having AC all night and SCUBA diving (5 dives). The crew was awesome, fun and flexible. Matthias went out of his way to accommodate my fly fishing. The guide in Anegada was ok. It was a windy day, so casting was a challenge. I would highly recommend the Antillean to anyone.

Wonderful 25th Anniversary Vacation
Amber and Matthias,

We chose the Antillean for our 25th anniversary vacation never having taking this kind of trip we were aiming for a most memorable experience and you both exceeded our expectations!
Ambers talent as a fire dancer was only rivaled by her exceptional, creative culinary skills and graciousness as a hostess.

The guy whose name started with an M (moron) was as funny as he was knowledgeable. Thank you for sharing so much about sailing, the island and for keeping things exiting with "Fish On"

Your experience sailing together is so apparent in how you work so seam, it's like a synchronized dance.

For us this was like camping with friends but we have no doubt your process can adapt to personalize anyone's trip to be the vacation of their dreams just like you did for us. Thank you!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time aboard the Antillean
We thoroughly enjoyed our time aboard the Antillean. Matthias knows the entire area like the back of his hand and always was able to secure the best anchorage in each harbor we visited. He was an excellent scuba instructor for our kids (aged 13 and 16), getting them introduced, certified and loving scuba. Amber was extremely conscientious about keeping us well fed and the boat tidy. Having never chartered before, we were not exactly sure what to expect, however, our time aboard the Antillean exceeded our expectations. The sunshine, crystal clear blue water and beauty of the islands were great, but what really made the trip special was having Matthias and Amber there as our guides. We would recommend chartering with them without reservation and hope to be able to join them again for another adventure in the future.
We had an awesome, amazing time!
So special and so fun! Thanks for showing us a view of the Virgin Islands from the natives viewpoint and knowledge. Information and experience with a fun flare attached! Along with delicious food every day, every meal! We had an awesome, amazing time!
Bob and Kathy

Thank you for an awesome vacation adventure. We have had a time such that we will never forget. The food was spectacular, the locations amazing, and the generosity to take us where we wanted to go - all wonderful. We enjoyed you sharing with us interesting information about various places we visited. Fabulous!!
Dean and Terry

Dear Matthias and Amber,
This has been a most awesome anniversary adventure. Even before we boarded, you sought to cater to our every need and desire. It was wonderful to feel comfortable and confident in you both from the moment we boarded the Antillean. The two of you work together well and cater to every desire. Matthias, your lifelong sailing experience alleviated all anxiety with this new adventure. Amber, your meals were not only delicious but beautifully presented. We also appreciated how you were sensitive to our personalities and our places in life. Thank you is inadequate.
