We are looking for the next "Trip of a lifetime, now to be repeated with Chaos Interrupted" every two years!!

Vince, Judy and Jake “The Boat Dog” were not only everything we asked for, they are our new best friends. Oh, and the boat…As a boater myself, I’m pretty picky. Vince and Judy are not only top notch scuba divers, they are incredible crew/boat owners. The boat was spotless, everything was in working order and the beds were very comfortable. I was surprised at how much space we had in our staterooms and each stateroom comes with its own bathroom/shower. We highly recommend Chaos Interrupted for your next vacation. We will be doing this again.

Judy and Vince were both able to accompany us on two amazing dives. This was key since one of our group was newly certified. We snorkeled every day and we were able to see so many under the sea creatures including an octopus, moray eel, lobster, stingray, spotted eagle rays and numerous tropical fish. And the turtles… being able to swim with them was so much fun. Judy took us on a beautiful hike for sunset at Ram Head Trail, and the next day they hoisted the sails to head to the last cove of the trip. It was so relaxing and beautiful tacking back-and-forth with Vince teaching us a bit as we went along. Not only are Judy and Vince the best crew for our “trip of a lifetime” they are now our friends for life. We can’t wait to come back again for a trip to the BVI!

While aboard Chaos Interrupted, we visited and snorkeled in almost every bay around Saint Thomas and Saint John and ate incredible chef-inspired meals from Chef Judy. Captain Vince knew exactly where to settle into for the night to enjoy our Yappy hour with Jake. He also knew where to find the most giant lobsters – actual trench monsters. And magically, the crew found the most inspiring and gorgeous sunsets each night.
Our most memorable time was floating at the back of the boat, enjoying the view and each other’s company. Really, the only decisions we had to make the entire time on board were whether to do a third dive or which bathing suitcoverup to wear for the day.
As for the boat, Chaos Interrupted is a smooth riding catamaran with plenty of room to lounge and enjoy the sun. The air-conditioned staterooms are a good size, each with a private bathroom and shower. As a guest, you really want for nothing. They have the boat basically personalized for you. The coolers were full of our favorite drinks, and the onboard bar featured liquors we enjoyed. But honestly, try Captain Vince’s Painkiller. It will get you in the mood to relax asap. Also, try a piece of Chef Judy’s Key Lime Pie. Heaven.
Our only regret is not booking a return sail for next year with Chaos Interrupted. We know a team and boat like this will be busy.
To Captain Vince, Chef Judy, and Jake, thank you all for an incredible break. You all three make Chaos Interrupted what it is – a break from the chaos. Brooke and I were so happy to meet you each and pray that our wakes pass again. Until then, safe travels.
PS: The noodle rope is already a hit on the lake, and we’ve started our own Yappy happy hour. Except our Charlie the lake dog doesn’t do a Jake Lean yet, but he does a Charlie Sprawl. ;)

There's not enough room available here to explain how happy we are with Chao Interrupted. Scenery, food/drinks, hospitality, relaxation, it's all part of the Chaos Interrupted experience. We truly feel like we have lifelong friends with Vince, Judy & Jake. BOOK IT NOW!!! :)

Our party consisted of myself and husband, as well as one other couple. As close friends we knew we'd be fine together on a boat for 7 days, but what about with strangers we'd never met? It was a complete nonissue. Not only are they are incredible about providing space, but we found it much more exciting to include everyone in our shenanigans. Turns out, Vince is that big brother type that you can pick on, picks on you right back, but also wants to make sure everything is safe and professional. He also makes the best Painkillers on the islands. And Judy...(Judy, Judy, Judy) could not possibly be nicer OR a better chef. Her culinary skills were incredible and from our very first appetizer to our last breakfast, we were in awe of her talents. I have to also mention Jake the Boat Dog. As an essential member of the crew, Jake provided furry love, entertainment, and was a wonderful part of our week.
One of my favorite aspects of the trip was the lack of required decision making. Vince took exceeding care in developing an itinerary for us and offered us the option of modifying. When we indicated we wanted to make no decisions this week, he told us where we’d go and where to jump out of the boat and snorkel. The combination of amazing food, amazing scenery, nightly games, Jake loves, and new friends created a vacation we will never forget. What started out as a bucket list trip has now morphed into a desire to interrupt our chaos more regularly.

Absolutely wonderful! We have never been on a charter of this magnitude so we really didn’t know what to expect. From the minute we arrived and met Captain Vince and First Mate Judy, I knew this was going to be AMAZING! They truly make you feel like you’ve been friends forever. The accommodations were perfect for our party of 5, we had plenty of room for everything. The food that Chef Judy prepared were out of this world (she even shared a recipe with us). Captain Vince served up the best cocktails too, I am obsessed with the Painkiller cocktail now! I loved that every morning I could wake up and enjoy my coffee with a spectacular view!
We would definitely charter with them again. They were so knowledgeable about the islands and went above and beyond for us! FYI- don’t challenge Capt. Vince to music trivia, he will always win! I also have to talk about Jake the Boat Dog. I love Vince and Judy, but Jake was hands down my favorite. He’s the sweetest fur baby and I’m so happy that I can still follow him and his beach adventures on IG. We still talk about this trip to anyone that will listen and cannot wait to do it again! Thank you, Vince, Judy and Jake for making this so special!

Catamaran Karma on Chaos Interrupted! What a wonderful trip, and one we’ve vowed to ourselves to take again soon. While Covid prevented us from going to the BVIs, Captain Vince and Chief Mate/Chef Judy ensured we never felt limited and led us through a wonderful world in the USVI. Beautiful water, sunny skies and relaxing times were our everyday life as we truly felt welcomed into Vince’s & Judy’s life and home.
Vince and Judy were exceptional dive masters on our dives, providing the necessary guidance for all to have comfortable and breathtaking experiences. We had opted for half-board to ensure we had some island dining experiences but our group quickly realized that Chef Judy was an amazing cook, providing meals we can only hope to replicate back home. We had extremely high expectations for our trip, and I can say that Vince and Judy (and Jake the boat dog) provided a trip that exceeded those hopes! Let’s go again!
Lance & Annie (February 2022)
I read A LOT of reviews. I write very few. After studying all of the S/V CI reviews and learning through them what Captain Vince and Chef Judy create for their customers / passengers, I looked no further when booking my 4+ decade long "bucket list" item: a private catamaran charter, island hopping around the USVI.
No shirt - no shoes - NO worries: Service galore! "All inclusive" doesn't begin to describe what Vince and Judy provide. Sure, you get all the food you want, all the drinks you want, all the activities you want, all the fun you want - but also all the downtime you need. They create an experience tailored to your personal desires but also guide you to adventures you didn't know you were looking for. They are the perfect mix of business owners / friends / and family, and they are adept at knowing when to be each.
Judy's food was amazing! Her professional cooking school training and the self-study she has undertaken, allow her to create meals that were hands down better than any food we ate on island. Easy to talk to, versed on business development, a great communicator both prior to our vacation and during, as well as a patient and competent dive instructor, she's the complete package.
Vince will ease any hesitation you may have about being on a 45' vessel in open water. As captain, he is calm, cool, collected and very competent. You will not once question his skills or ever feel uncomfortable while on the yacht. As a dive instructor he challenges your skill set to be a better diver while answering any questions and easing any apprehensions you may hold. And he is an Auburn man. For those of you who know what this means, it means everything. WDE!
Let me end by saying this: if you have ever wanted this type of experience or if you just think you might like it, stop now. Contact Judy and book a week with S/V CI. Like right now! This season is sold out. Next season (which starts 8 months from now) is 50% booked. Don't wait or you'll have to settle for second best.

We enjoyed our time on Chaos Interrupted so much! Vince and Judy were wonderful hosts and it was the perfect way to introduce our boys (ages 10, 8 and 8) to the USVI. We had so much fun and made so many wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. Captain Vince and First Mate Judy wear so many hats-it’s very impressive!
Captain Vince not only captains the ship but also leads snorkeling expeditions, subwing adventures, sets up movie nights, and is an uno ultra-marathoner! The boys loved spending time with him and he was great with the kids. He even took our oldest snorkeling after the rest of us finished up and they saw a reef shark-our 10 year old’s claim to fame of the week!
First Mate Judy is not only an excellent chef-just ask our oldest about his birthday chocolate chip cookie sundaes with homemade whipped cream, but she was also great teaching the boys so much about the islands. She was so wonderful after snorkeling getting out the fish books to let the boys identify what they saw to document in their travel journals. She also took us on a hike to Annaberg and taught us the history of the sugar mill plantation.
Their crew is rounded out with Jake the Boat Dog who will always be one of our boys’ favorite parts of the week. He is the sweetest dog and our family just fell in love with him.
We spent our days motoring or sailing to new coves after breakfast each morning and then snorkeling, paddle boarding, having beach time or just relaxing with books on the boat while the boys had a great time playing on the large mat off the back of the boat. We couldn’t have written a better story for a family vacation. Getting to watch our boys take in the beauty of the USVI for the first time and getting to do it with a trip full of adventure in their eyes and still time for the relaxation my husband and I needed-perfect combination. We highly recommend!

Our family of four spent an unforgettable Christmas week aboard Chaos Interrupted with Vince, Judy, and Jake (their dog) and it was by far one of the best trips our well-travelled family has ever taken. Although it was a rather last minute decision, it ended up being an amazing time and a phenomenal experience that we would do again in a heartbeat. Both Vince and Judy were so personable, easy to get along with, detail-oriented, helpful, and were always willing to cater to our family and our needs. Before we arrived, they created an itinerary based around our family's interests and desires planning for hikes, runs in the morning, beach time, snorkeling, paddle boarding, movie or game nights, fishing, and so much more. An unexpected highlight of the trip was the AMAZING food we had aboard. Judy had planned out a Michelin star-worthy menu (no exaggeration) for our week including exciting foods like poke bowls, teriyaki salmon, and avocado toast with a twist. Numerous times, you'd hear us utter "We're not worthy!" Judy went out of her way to ensure that our complicated dietary needs were met with alternative options and substitutions. Jake (the boat dog) was a joy to have aboard, he was a loving, gentle companion and truly made this trip even better. We can't imagine another charter could ever live up to these guys!
Scott, Ibuki, Alex and Megan (Christmas 2021)
First trip taken like this - and it was fantastic. Judy, Vince & Jake - top notch hosts & teachers. The boat was beautifully decorated. The rooms were bright and comfortable. The quiet mornings & hot coffee - gentle rains, daily rainbows, gorgeous sunsets - all made for a nice daily arc. The dinners were amazing and creative for a small kitchen space. In late 2020, we had gotten our scuba certifications started in a pool - Judy & Vince were very good teachers for our first actual open water refresher and subsequent two dives (and so patient). Watching Vince catch our lobster dinner and capture invasive lionfish, seeing turtles & octopus & even the two dolphins that greeted us on our first evening, island hikes, Vince's painkillers - all unforgettable moments. Becoming comfortable in the water - life-changing. Thank you, Chaos Interrupted for one of our best trips.

We were looking to do something special together with our children and their partners in connection with Leif’s 70th birthday. After looking at different options and considerations we settled for an All-inclusive private yacht charter, as both we and the children are comfortable on boats. As luck would have it, we chartered Chaos Interrupted, which turned out to be a terrific success for an unforgettable family reunion.
We all enjoyed swimming in the warm turquoise water, some snorkeled, Fredrik scuba dove with Captain Vince, paddle boarded, kayaked, danced, stargazed, hiked and sailed!
Some enjoyed relaxing and reading in the bean bag chairs and some were perfectly happy resting in the shade on the fly bridge cuddling Jake the boat dog! Daniel was promoted to deckhand, since he helped fist mate Judy when tying-up the boat at our anchorages.
Fantastic to be able to see up close the sea turtles and different kinds of fish. Captain Vince snared a lobster on a dive and from which Chef Judy prepared a fabulous lobster ceviche for us.
First Mate Judy is an amazing Chef, who turns out an incredible variety of dishes from her compact kitchen/galley, for breakfast lunch and dinner. Vince perfected mixing The Sinatra Smash, an excellent choice of cocktail.
Judy guided us to see the Petroglyphs and along the trail we saw many colorful land crabs, and we came upon dear at Annaberg sugar mill. On the bus ride back from the Windmill Bar we drove past wild donkeys that roam the island. Also, some goats were wandering the beaches.
Thank you, Captain Vince, Chef Judy and Jake (the Boat Dog) for an amazing six-day cruise around St. John on your wonderful yacht Chaos Interrupted. It was an unforgettable family reunion; we had a great time and created many lovely memories.
Ulla & Leif (November 2021)
From the moment we stepped onboard until we disembarked it was the most relaxing yet adventurous experience I, we ever had! Cap. Vince and First Mate/chef Judy are such a joy to be around, easy going, and knowledgeable about fun as much as they are about the sea.
They worked with our entire family prior to the trip and assisted in crafting the perfect trip, and provided a few pleasant surprises along the way. If you wanna scuba, relax, swim, relax, hike, dance the night away in a local island/harbor bar and relax they got you covered!
Sleeps great!
Sails great!
The cooking, I just can’t say enough about it, it was amazing! I felt like I was in episode of No Reservations during every meal (the smoked tuna dip, the fresh caught lobster (complements to the chef and the captain), grilled lobster, jerked fish, smoothie bowl, and I could just go on and on), each meal was truly something.
Each day was better than the one before, and each night was more special. The bays filled with sea turtles, stingrays, and beautiful white sand and clear blue water. We snorkeled and just flopped around on all the floatable activities Chaos Interrupted had to offer.
I could go on and on but you should just go experience it for yourself!
Daniel & Lauren (November 2021)
Our experience with Chaos Interrupted was beyond our expectations!! From the warm welcome coupled with amazing meals from Chef Judy, we really lived our best lives for the week we spent aboard Chaos Interrupted. Every meal Chef Judy made for us was mouthwatering and delicious and Captain Vince was full of knowledge and not shy from entertaining us and keeping our kids awe struck by the ocean and the incredible views.
I think for us the best part of our trip was seeing our 2 girls who were nervous about everything ocean/creepy fish/SHARKS were fearless after the first day. Vince and Judy really helped make the girls feel comfortable in the water and that meant so much to us! We could hardly get our girls out of the water to eat lunch they really enjoyed themselves so much. Two months later and they’re still talking about their experience.
We celebrated our 10 anniversary onboard and would not have wanted it any other way. Chef Judy and Captain Vince went out of their way to make every bit of our trip amazing! We will be making plans soon to make this trip happen again.
Lastly Jake, he loved on all of us and especially made our daughter's trip so wonderful. He seemed to always find her to take his naps, and knew she’d drop treats for him while she ate.
We loved everything about our trip and would recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from the everyday grind and needs time to rewind and experience something breathtaking. Thank you Vince Judy and Jake for all the love you shared with us.

Let me start with "WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!" We were looking to do something extra special for our 25th wedding anniversary and they nailed it! Captain Vince, Judy (amazing chef) and Jake the Boat Dog went above and beyond to make our special day into an unforgettable week! Every meal, every bay, and every activity was specialized just for us! They are wonderful hosts and we can't wait to sail with them again :-) Thanks Vince, Judy, & Jake!!!!!!!!!
They are now like family and we can't wait to return in April 2022. (Yes, we enjoyed ourselves so much that we booked our return trip before we left the boat!) I would encourage you to book soon, say yes to all the things and trust their recommendations for interrupting your chaos!
Reagan and Mickey (June 2021)
They really did an amazing job with our week. It all started with the preparation process. They individualized the entire itinerary, along with the meals with dietary requirements and tastes, with the best that can be done (given restrictions on items that may not be available on the islands). We had a dedicated phone conversation, after completing some “homework” on which to base the discussion on- basically for them to get to know us, what we like, what we don’t like, and what we were looking to do on the trip. Then they put together a sample itinerary, which we could then make changes as we wished. We decided to do a half board, so they made us breakfast every morning, and a certain number of lunches and dinners as well. All the meals that were cooked were excellent, and the meals we had on land were also awesome (all at places which they recommended). She makes the BEST Key Lime Pie- Kudos Judy! They even were so thoughtful with our kids- for example, for our welcome drink on board (my wife loves Prosecco) – they found a bottle of non-alcoholic Rose so the kids could also toast with us. What a great start that was to an awesome trip.
As an example- we arrived Saturday afternoon, and it ended up raining all day Sunday so we couldn’t really do anything outdoors that day. The awesome thing about this charter is that it’s not like a cruise ship- things you want can be changed- whether it’s for unexpected weather, or you decide you want to sleep in one day that was supposed to be early- they are very accommodating and can make it happen. We were supposed to eat out that day, so they shifted gears and made our lunch on the boat instead. We traveled as a two adult, two teenager family for the week- and we visited. St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix. We spent the week sailing, snorkeling, diving, fishing- but more important, just relaxing!! All four of us, though we don’t necessarily share the same recreational interests, all found something to do and loved it!
Judy and Captain Vince were very patient. I wanted to dive, and my wife wasn’t as keen but was willing to do it. Both Vince and Judy are PADI certified, and they were absolute saints with teaching us all. And I caught some pretty amazing close-up underwater pictures of ocean wildlife.
And a special shout out to boat dog Jake- he was awesome! My kids have been begging for a dog, and Jake certainly didn’t help my case in saying no… He is such a loving dog, and we enjoyed the “Jake lean”. (You will have to book a trip to see what it is!)
Even though we were guests, we felt like we gained three more friends. They are just good people. We had fun with our happy hours (after the boat was docked of course!) with two different types of Martinis, learned all about their journey to how they ended up running this charter- we even watched Pirates of the Caribbean on a projector! My wife had never seen it, so we decided to do that one day after dinner. We also celebrated Captain Vince’s birthday on the boat!!
Unless you’re allergic to a good time, it’s hard for me to imagine anyone having anything but an awesome trip with Chaos Interrupted. And I cannot tell you how appropriate and accurate that name is for how our trip went. I only wish that instead of sitting here writing this review, we were back there right now. You cannot go wrong on Chaos Interrupted- we are trying to book another trip with Judy and Captain Vince for next year!! I wholeheartedly recommend you interrupt the chaos with Captain Vince and Judy!!!

We flew into St. Thomas out of Atlanta and just as soon as we grabbed our luggage off the carousel, our driver scooped us off and we headed for the short (10 minute) drive to the marina where Capt. Vince and Judy greeted us with the biggest welcomes! Once on board Chaos Interrupted we were given time to get settled into our rooms. I was so afraid that I would feel claustrophobic (I’m tall enough that I should’ve played basketball) but couldn’t believe how spacious the rooms are! The bed is about hip-height (which allows for bag storage underneath) but you can still sit up while sitting on the bed! Each room has their own bathrooms, small closet and a couple of drawers/storage spots, too! Once we were all settled, our group all met on the fly-bridge for “yappy-hour” and the official relaxing began!
Over the course of the next 7 days we cruised around St. Thomas and St. John staying in a different bay each night. Each bay had its own special character that you’ll never forget. We ate Pizza Pi VI off a that has been converted into a pizzeria (what!?!!)- this was after a day of diving, snorkeling, turtle spotting, and having fun identifying all the sea life. We made the quick float from boat to shore another day just for the cutest little beach bar that serves a famous island favorite - The Painkiller (Capt. Vince makes a pretty mean Pain Killer, too!)! Another day we all enjoyed the swim-up bar at Lime-Out (the Ceviche Taco is the perfect afternoon treat on a hot day!!!). Oh, and I can’t forget my favorite experience - the hour we spent swimming with and observing two massive (4 ft.!) Loggerhead Sea Turtles in just 15 ft of water in Maho Bay!!! You just never get to see them so comfortably in their own environment like that in the states or Keys!!!
I have to mention the perfect mix of boat, water, and land activities is all planned out for you by Judy! On land we hiked (more like a flat walk along the most gorgeous shoreline) to an old sugar plantation, drove past wild donkeys on fun bus ride up to the Windmill Bar which has the world’s best sunset and shopped in the cutest little villas and even danced in the streets to local nightlife music! SO MUCH FUN!!!
What I really love is how these two work together as a team! The planning was all done by Judy - she reaches out before the trip to ensure you’ll love her menu, that they have your favorite drinks on board and they try their hardest to fulfill all of your snacking requests (island grocery shopping is NOT like the USA). This is truly the trip of a lifetime and something you, your loved ones, and your friends will never forget and be talking about for the rest of your lives!!! You’ll want to book your next trip before you even finish the first one!
Tips:
- You truly will spend most of your time in your bathing suit and a coverup! I came home with too many outfits that were never touched. Wet clothes can also be hung to dry off the side of the boat day and night, so you really don’t need much!
- The deck towels on board are Turkish-towels which double as a coverup! Regular towels are provided in the bathrooms - don’t pack any!
- Pack a GoPro if you have one!!!
- Enjoy game-night around the table in the evenings before bed! Vince and Judy have a selection of fun games aboard!
- Try new things!!!
- Jake the Boat Dog will be your best friend if you bring him a rawhide :P
- For me (I have an old foot injury), sneakers were the best option for the Annabel Plantation walk/hike but my hubs wore flip flops. If you think you may want sneakers, pack ONE pair. We never used our water shoes though.
- AT&T cell service was great - if you need to check in at home and we did not incur any roaming or international charges (USVI).

Chaos Interrupted is based out of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Vince and Judy handled our transportation from the airport to the docks to their boat, which we then received a drink and a short (but handy) safety briefing. We asked a few questions and our vacation began. This trip was tailored to our group, to the things we enjoyed doing, things we hoped for, wanted to try, wanted to see, etc. Vince and Judy made sure we had everything.
For 7 days, we motored and sailed around St. Thomas and St. John, USVI. We visited several coves, both popular and secluded. We ate amazing food. We visited with our friends. We drank. A lot. We snorkeled. We shopped. We laughed. We cried. We relaxed. We did it all. It was All-inclusive. We didn't have to fool with the constant hustle and bustle of popular vacation spots. Not that I'm saying popular vacation spots aren't great. We just didn't have to deal with the 'people on vacation' traffic. We woke up each day with a plan, beautiful weather, great people, great food, and good drinks!
I could not have imagined a better vacation, one that allowed our group to get away from anything we considered "chaos" and just relax and enjoy the ride, literally. The views, the marine life, the relaxation, and the "no rush" atmosphere was everything we wanted, and everything we needed. We will definitely be back, not just for the trip, but also to see our friends.

“Thank you Judy, Captain Vince and Jake (the Boat Dog!) for the love, care and time dedicated to us! Love you friends. We had a great time living on the boat and you couldn’t be more helpful to make this experience totally worthwhile. The places we visited, the food you provided, the sunsets, cocktails, fun games on board, the morning floats, etc. We definitely want to come back again!”
Thank you,
We just got back from a New Year’s Eve week private catamaran charter on Chaos Interrupted. The owner operators Judy and Vince exceeded all expectations. They were knowledgeable, adaptable and worked so hard to make our trip perfect. The boat was so nice , new, spacious, clean and very comfortable. The food Judy prepared was a 12 out of 10, always delicious and gourmet. They worked with us to plan our trip ahead of time and it was awesome for the 6 of us in our family. They took us scuba diving and gave us personal attention. The beds in our cabins were very comfortable and the bathrooms well appointed. Jake the boat dog was so lovable and a plus to have with us. He was never in the way. We always felt safe with Captain Vince at the helm. We loved our daily paddle boarding and snorkel adventures. Vince led us on a memorable sunset hike at Ram Head. In summary, Judy and Vince went above and beyond to plan, adjust and execute our trip to make it perfect. We would definitely sail with them again and recommend to our friends and family.
