Crew
Crew Information
Captain: John
Meet the crew for season 2022/23!
Captain John and chef Meave
Captain John grew up visiting the island of Martha’s Vineyard where he fell in love with the ocean. His passion for fishing took him all over the world chasing new adventures.
Combining his passion for the water and travel he soon fell in love with sailing. John now runs charters aboard Day Dreams from the Virgin Islands in the winter and Nantucket in the summer!
Maeve was born and raised on a small island off the coast of Massachusetts known as Martha’s Vineyard. She spent most of her childhood with her father, an avid fisherman who’s been navigating the Atlantic for 50+ years. In her adult life, Maeve not only became her father’s first mate, but she furthered her knowledge in obtaining her Captains License, in hopes of enabling advancement in the boating community. During the summer months, the island boasts tourism, bringing in people from all over the world. Understanding this, Maeve has been spending her summer mornings running fishing charters with her dad, bartending in the evening, and catering events on the weekends.
Maeve graduated Cum Lade from SUNY Cobleskill with a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Business Management. Her comprehension of agricultural importance in cooking, acquired while earning her degree, along with practicing in the service industry for more than a decade on the bustling Cape, has shaped her unique, flavorful and intentional cuisines.
Since Martha’s Vineyard tends to be a summer destination, Maeve has spent many winters navigating through the Virgin Islands in the winter months. Whether she’s bartending in St. John, or exploring the waters off of St. Thomas, Maeve always finds a way to get back to what she loves with a combined passion for food and the sea.
